The club is planning an upland training session on February 28, 2015 at the Wetzel State Recreation Area, Macomb County, Michigan. The event will start at 9:30AM. It will encompass the requirements of a HRC Upland Hunt Test.
Chukars will be utilized for this event with the anticipated cost per bird in the $14-$17 range. Two bird minimum. The chairman for this event is Rick Horn–810-794-1114, E-Mail- rickhorn65@gmail.com.

The next club meeting will be March 10, 2015. It will be at the South Branch of the Clinton Township public library, located at 35679 South Gratiot, Clinton Township, 48035 just North of Fifteen Mile Road, on the north side of the Lowe’s shopping Center. The board will be there at 6:30PM if members wish to discuss anything with them. The general membership meeting will begin at 7:00 and go to 8:30PM. This is a banquet sponsored by our local chapter. It is a great opportunity to meet fellow hunters and dog people. Try to attend and support a great group of people.
We are planning a club meeting on February 14, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Huron Pointe Sportsmen Club. A training session and new member introduction of their dogs to follow weather permitting. Planning for the coming year for events and training along with regular club business will be discussed at the meeting. This will be a good opportunity for new members to express their training goals and members to help them with their objectives. E-mails will be sent closer to the date. Jeff Zvanciuk passed away Tuesday evening January 8, 2013 after a couple of years of health issues. Jeff who was an active club member, was a devoted father and husband to Amy and their children, and son in law to Bill and Ree Ferens. There will be a fund raiser at Pampa Lanes on Saturday January 12,2013 at 8:30PM for Amy and the children. Pampa Lanes is located at 31925 Van Dyke, Warren Mich. 48093. There will also be a memorial service for Jeff on Sunday January 13, 2013 at 3:00PM. The service will be at the Mountaintop Church which is on Romeo Plank Road north of 26 mile road.
We will be training at Omega on September 10th and 24th We will meet at 9:00am at the Sales Barn. The cost is $10 per dog, $25 for three or more dogs. You will have to sign a waiver if you haven’t already.
There isn’t any structure to this training day. Those that attend should bring their equipment (wingers, holding blinds, one or two thawed ducks, bucket, gun with poppers) and set-up a finished test on land and water. The handler will decide how he wants to run the test when he gets to the line (including moving the line) depending on the level of his dog. In other words, the throwers and the blind stays where they are, the dog moves up to a reasonable distance. This is just my idea, it’s not cast in stone. Feel free to change it as you see fit.
I would like to see everyone who runs a dog help set-up, teardown, and throw a few birds. If you run two dogs, work twice as much.
