I wanted to send out a club update to the membership.
The April meeting has been cancelled. Club training has been put on hold. The Wetzel cleanup along with the with the Carol Ford fun hunt in April have been postponed. Kevin Bone is working on a new date, possibly July 25th, 2020. More to come on this event as we get direction from the State government and the DNR. The May hunt test has been cancelled. We are planning to hold the fall hunt test scheduled for August 1st & 2nd, 2020 if all goes well. Stay safe and healthy. Any questions call me.

The Saint Clair Flats Hunting Retriever  club is hosting a judges / handlers seminar on February 15th, 2020 starting at eight-thirty am.  It will be at 35735 Mound Road, Sterling Heights, MI, 48310.  This is an office structure south of 16 Mile road.  It is a opportunity to get a good understanding of what the requirements are for entering a hunt test and what the judges are looking for in your dog at the various levels of competition.  If you are planning to attend contact John Nowakowski at 586-790-3485 or johnbarbie@wowway.com.  A manual will be provided, so confirmation is important.

The annual potluck luncheon will be January 19th, 2020 starting at 12:00 pm. The election of a one year board member and recording secretary along with achievement awards will take place at the meeting. Please forward nominations for these offices to Bill Ferrans, the election chairman, as soon as possible.
The luncheon will be at the Huron Pointe Sportsman Club located at 35800 E. Twenty Eight Mile Road, Lenox MI, 48050. Please contact John Nowakowski with the dish you plan on bringing to the luncheon at 586-790-3485 or with an e-mail.
Also a reminder that membership dues should be submitted in January to Bob Daniels or brought to the meeting.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

The December membership meeting will be December 10, 2019 starting at 6:30pm.  The meeting will be at the Cabela’s store on M-59 off the I-94 expressway.  There is a lot to plan for the upcoming year.  Hope to have all members in attendance.

Greetings:
I wanted to start off by saying thanks to all the club members, judges and Boy Scouts that helped to make our club hunt a huge success. We had a lot of first time members step up and help out. Thanks to you. We also had our core of senior members do their usual grand job with the hard work and also this year mentoring our new members. Thanks to those great people. That being said I am very proud to be the vice president of this fantastic club. Enough said. Back to business. We have our monthly meeting this Tuesday May 14, starting at six thirty at Wetzel State Recreation Area. Dress for the weather and be sure to bring a chair. Hope to see you there.
John

Greetings:
The April club meeting will be Tuesday the 16th at the Chesterfield Cabela’s store starting PROMTLY at 6:30 pm. Please arrive ahead of time. as we have a guest speaker. Doctor Brooks, a veterinarian, will start off the meeting discussing First Aid for dogs. Dr. Brooks has graciously offered his time to inform and educate our members on caring for dogs. He is available to answer and discuss questions you may have regarding what to do in certain situations and other burning questions. Let’s have a good turn out for him. Following his presentation we will need to finalize our May hunt test. Additional items for discussion will be club training sessions and the purchase of a yearly club membership to use the training grounds at Crooked Foot Hunt Club. These club activities benefit all our club members, but also require some type of financing. Which bring up our primary fund raisers for the year. As voted on and approved by the membership there is currently a pheasant hunt raffle and future goose hunt raffle to help defray the costs of these and other club requirements. That being said we need our members to step up and either purchase or sell tickets. A few members have already sold tickets but we really need all our members help to make these a success.
