The February club meeting will be at 10:00AM February 26, 2012 at the Huron Pointe Gun Club.

The club address is: 35800 E. Twenty-Eight Mile Road, Lenox MI 48050.  Please plan on attending as the upcoming club events will be discussed.

There will be a club meeting and potluck luncheon  at the Huron Pointe Sportsman Club on January 29,  2012.  The meeting will start at 10:30 AM.  There will also be an election of officers and a presentation of awards achieved this past year.

If you have a nomination or if you are planning to run for a club office,  please contact Rick Horn or Steve Pitiglio as soon as possible.

The trap, skeet and sporting clays ranges will be open.  Just a reminder–No dogs are allowed in the club house.

The December meeting will take place Monday evening, December 12, 2011 at the Gander Mountain Store on Hall Road and Schoenherr.  The meeting will be from 7:00PM until 9:00PM

There will be a club meeting at the Heritage Days at Huron Point Sportsman Club,  35800 East Twenty Eight Mile Road, Lenox, Michigan 48050.

 The schedule for the day:

8:00AM   Set up

9:00AM   Club meeting

10:00AM  Children start running dogs.

4:00PM   Closing.

There will be  designated parking  across from  the area  where the club will set up the equipment.  At 9:00 there will be a club meeting–Please attend as this will be the final preparation before the club hunt test. 

Over the past years we have had 150 children run a dog on a bumper retrieve and receive a ribbon.  Bring your dog and plan on helping with this club event.  This is a great way to get out information about our club to the general public.  There will be hot dogs and hamburgers for lunch, bring a dish to pass.  Please contact: John Nowakowski–586-790-3485 if you are planning to attend.

The club will be setting up for the hunt test at Omega farms on Friday September 2, 2011.  Setup will start at 11:00AM.

Anyone interested in helping with this club activity should contact Kevin Bone.  There is a lot of work involved with putting on this test and this is a great opportunity to support the club and fellow members.  Please consider helping with this important club function.

The club will be hosting a back to back fall hunt test September 3rd and 4th 2011 at Omega Farms.   The location is 4900  M-52, Williamston, Michigan.  Test dogs will run at 8:00 AM.  The hunt test premium is available on line at the Hunting Retriever Club web site.

There will be a club meeting and training session at the Huron Pointe Sportsmen’s Association on July 9, 2011 starting at 9:00AM.  The training session will be a demonstation of the Double T.   Items that need to be reviewed:  Heritage Days, August 28th and the Fall Hunt Test, September 3 & 4, 2011.  The club is at 35800 E. There will be a Drill training Seminar presented by Tera Lanczak from Bay Blue Kennels on June 18 and 19.  It is sponsored by St. Clair Flats  HRC & Hunters Ridge Hunt Club.

There will be an all you can eat spaghetti dinner at the Huron Pointe Sportsman’s Association, 35800 28 Mile road.  The dinner fundraiser will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.  There will be a raffle, silent auction and information about the park.  Adults are $8.00 and kids 12 and under $4.00.  For info or advanced tickets (586) 254-2493.

There will a park cleanup on Saturday, April 16, 2011, 9:00am-1:00pm.  Check in station will be located at the end of 27 mile road, west of Werderman Road at the RCCD flying field.  Lunch and refreshments will be served.  Bring work gloves,boots and rain gear(if necessary).  The club does train in this area and if you are available, please try to help.
